Hello Everyone!
Has anyone ever wondered - what exactly does the term "nation building" mean? Can you find a sentence or phrase to define it? Or maybe, just in your own opinion? What are some ways to work towards "nation building"? What benefits does "nation building" have for people who work towards it? How can you work towards "nation building"? Can "nation building" be achieved by one person alone? Why or why not?

ReplyDeleteI think nation building is something like building bonds within the nation, like a community. I'm not really sure though XD
I think nation building is - ok. Facts. Building a nation. Obviously, you can't just have 1 person doin' all the work, (that is, of course, unless the nation only has that 1 person in it) so you need everybody to pitch in and do their bit. The result: a community of :D ppl who work together and - I dunno - make Singapore better? Quote Michael Jackson: (see post by Yuhan) it will be made "a better place".
ReplyDeleteThis is Jiayu here again. I know this is a late comment but anyway. Nation building in general is boosting our country to greater heights. However, that doesn't mean only in economy. It means in all forms, in terms of harmony within the country, in terms of how the citizens in the country are treated.
ReplyDeleteNation building cannot be done a single person alone because a nation is actually a team if you change a perspetive about it. A sucessful team needs a good leader and good followers who make the team sucessful not only by following instructions but also making suggestions and challenging certain decisions ith valid reasons. The same concept applies for a nation.

so i think nation building means working towards having de above.
nation building can't be done by 1 or two ppl, but done by the majority of de country.
wat gov. has done:
~made NS compulsory
~made primary education in schs compulsory(if some1 wants 2 b homeschooled,parent(s) must write in to MOE and say how they will let their child mix with other children/ppl.
